Declan McCusker

Declan McCusker was born in Belfast and brought up in Barrow-in-Furness in the Lake District.

He graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

Declan currently sings with Scottish Opera and has sung many roles with the company both on tour in the UK and Europe. These include Pong in Turandot, Ruiz in Il Trovatore, Spolletta in Tosca, First Jew in Salome, First Armed Man in Magic Flute, Messenger in Aida, the Ringmaster in The Bartered Bride, the leader of the people in Alceste, the Wood Pecker in The Cunning Little Vixen and the Master of Ceremonies in The Queen of Spades.

On the oratorio platform Declan has recently sung Handel's Messiah, Elgar's The Kingdom and The Dream of Gerontius, Verdi's Requiem, Haydn's Creation, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Rossini's Petite Messe, and Puccini's Messe di Gloria.

He now lives in Paisley with his wife and children.
